Twibbons help Corrie and Emmerdale win at the British Soap Awards

Last night the iconic British Soap Awards taking place, with Coronation Street taking 3 awards, while Emmerdale scooped the special acheivement award for writer Bill Lyons.

Corrie took home the lifetime achievement award for 89 year old actress Betty Driver, as Michelle Keegan won sexiest female and Craig Gazey took home the best comedy performance award.

During the past few weeks, Twitter and Facebook users were able to spread the word and show their support for their favourite soaps to 1000's of people online by wearing a Twibbon on their profile picture. Both Coronation Street and Emmerdale were able to gather several hundred supporters, helped by the special 'White Label' campaign ITV had used to promote the Twibbons.
