Promoting Events using Twibbon!

Events

As we know, Twibbon is used to promote all types of causes, but one of the sectors using Twibbon most strategically and effectually are Event Organisers. Planners and co-ordinators have quickly caught on to using Twibbon as an effective marketing tool, along with the customary adverts/Facebook pages/posters and so on.  Here is a look at some of the most successful event-led campaigns:

Day of Silence

Day_of_silence

The Day of Silence Twibbon was created by @dayofsilence -  the organisers themselves -  to promote the day of action when students across the country would spend a day not speaking in order to raise awareness of the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bullying in schools – and gained a fantastic 5,300 supporters. Furthermore, because it was a Custom Campaign, all fans who added the Twibbon were automatically re-directed to the Day of Silence page, making it easy for them to see how to get involved.

DFS Crufts

The Moonwalk London

The Moonwalk London Twibbon was initiated by Walk the Walk, the charity behind all the Moonwalks to encourage women to sign up for the event. The campaign proved  to be a huge success reaching 3,300 supporters. Taking advantage of the Custom Campaign's auto-follow feature, the creator managed to increase their Twitter followers, as you can see below from their Twitter follower stats:

They also took advantage of the Twibutes that come free with Twibbon and turned their Twitter background into another marketing tool!

The cycling wasn’t the only sporting event keeping us busy this month as the Open Golf Championship began on the 14th; the occasion being marked by two Facebook apps created for the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, engaging fans with the competition.

There were also two big sporting events being prepared for - South Africa fans were getting ready for the Rugby World Cup in September by celebrating Bok Day – and the London 2012 Olympics flagging up that there is only one year to go until their big day!

The tragic and horrific events of the 22nd of July in Oslo and Utoya brought forth a mass outpouring of sympathy for the Norwegian people. This support was reflected on Twibbon, with a staggering 103,000 people adding the Twibbon for Norway before the week was out - becoming the 5th most supported Twibbon we have ever had. TagViews: the New Facebook App for Massively Social Crowd-Tagging

Tv
TagViews is our brand new Facebook app that allows fans to tag themselves and their friends in high-res photographs taken at large-scale events and gigs.

Combining Microsoft DeepZoom technology with TagView functionality, crowds of thousands of people can be easily navigated; allowing fans to tag themselves in massive crowd images in seconds.

Our latest creation has already been snapped up by rock festival High Voltage, and Brit Award-winning boy band JLS, who have been using the app to engage fans during their UK-wide tour.

With over 1.5 million people following the band via their Facebook fan page, TagViews has proved an instant hit with over 6,000 JLS gig-goers tagging themselves, thanks to TagViews' ability to be easily-installed onto JLS' Facebook page.

Jls

Even fans who had not attended a JLS gig were able to engage with TagViews via a Where’s Waldo style competition feature - which involves finding a hidden Gold Disc in each TagView. Users could also take a snapshot of them or their mates at the gig that appeared in a frame being held by the JLS members.

As fans tag themselves and interact with the app, they automatically post a message on their wall, encouraging all of their friends to tag themselves in the TagView, and increasing viral hits to the application.

Now in conversation with a number of world-famous recording artists and festivals who are also keen to utilise the Facebook app, TagViews is the ideal online product for bands, sports teams, venue owners and event organisers who are looking to increase genuine, long-lasting engagement with their fans, as well as boosting the number of likes for their page.
