Custom Campaign of the Week! - I Believe

Big sporting events are a real staple of Twibbon campaigns and the Rugby World Cup battle between Wales and France last weekend brought out the patriot in the Welsh fans, prompting our Custom Campaign of the week.

The simply titled I Believe was created by the BBC Wales Scrum V Team, who wanted to focus and galvanise Welsh fans from all over the world to "Back the Boys". Unfortunately, on the day Wales controversially just missed out on a win but the "I Believe" ethos is still alive!

Since the beginning of the campaign just last week, the Twibbon has garnered a fantastic 2,500 supporters!

We have found that adding a Twibbon to your profile picture encourages discussion and involvement in a cause, Here is what some supporters and Twibbon users were saying about the I Believe campaign:

Because this was a Custom Campaign filled with features and not just a free one, @bbcscrumtv were able to use additional features to increase their Twitter followers and their Facebook likes 

With a Custom Campaign, users who add your Twibbon will automatically follow your Twitter account which means increased, targeted supporters. For BBC Wales, the result was an increase of 1,000 followers in a week!

Custom Campaign of the Week – Collars not Cruelty

We are cheating slightly this week (!) and are focusing on a user who has created 13 Custom Campaigns, all related to the cause "Collars not Cruelty".

WSPA - the World Society for the Protection of Animals - is a global organisation that works in many different countries and with many different languages. Therefore they took their “Collars not Cruelty” initiative (which is against dogs being needlessly put to death in a misguided attempt to eradicate rabies) and made a Custom Campaign for each region that they operate in.

Since the campaign began just over two weeks ago, the combined supporters of all the campaigns has risen to an astonishing 12,000!

As more people add a Twibbon, the more they participate with and involve themselves in a cause. Here is what some supporters were saying about the Collars not Cruelty campaign:-

Because this was a Custom Campaign and not just a free one, WSPA were able to access additional tools to increase their Facebook Likes.

Their 13 different Facebook Pages increased by 20,000 likes, thanks to the Custom Campaign feature which asks users to “like” a page before they add a Twibbon, as well as the bonus that WSPA were able to promote their Facebook page on their Twibbon page.

And, for a little bit extra, each campaign also included a custom-branded header, footer and background to give WSPA more ownership over the Twibbon campaign, and make it more visually cohesive with their other promotional efforts.

As well as the increased Likes on their Facebook page, WSPA were able to benefit from other Custom Campaign features such as:

September Twibbon Highlights!

September has come and gone in a blink, so let’s take our look back at the month's Twibbon highlights!

We started off in a sporty fashion with a Twibbon celebrating footballer Roger Ceni’s 1000th game as goalkeeper for Sao Paulo - which an amazing 10,000 of his fans added to their avatars.

Teaming up with ITV Rugby for this year's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, we kicked off the  historic competition with some awesome-looking Twibbons for Rugby fans to add. We also launched Ultimate Fan; a bespoke Facebook app for ITV where fans can prove their loyalty by earning points for supporting their team -  keep your eyes out for a blog post dedicated to this exciting collaboration soon!

After Twibbon was taken over by ABC and Seventeen magazine in July in a bid to stamp out cyberbulling, a nice coda to the campaign was this stunning mosaic, generated from all of the avatars of those who had added the Twibbon on Twitter and Facebook.

We also had a couple of famous dates in September: Google became a teenager on the 27th of the month:

And the still hugely popular author Roald Dahl - who has a special day set aside for celebration - was commemorated on the 13th. His fans were keen to share with us their favourite Roald Dahl book!

The anniversary of 9/11 engendered the popular campaign Flag 911 - which we blogged about more fully here - and made International day of Peace being held this month all the more poignant.

Most Popular Campaign – it was a close thing between Roger Ceni (10,000 supporters) and the Tiger & Bunny Hero campaign, which took only a couple of days to grow from nothing to 8,000 supporters!
