Twibbon has launched a super new Facebook Application to make supporting the causes and brands you care about easier than ever if you’re on the world’s largest social network. A couple of weeks ago, Twibbon began supporting our first Facebook users and we’ve been dedicating considerable time to improve this process.

Not only can you wear a Twibbon on your profile picture through the application, but for those of you who hate deciding between two or three Twibbons at once can also choose to show the world the whole range of causes and brands you want to support on your wall. When you’re wearing your Twibbon you can also send invites to friends who you think will be interested too.

We’ll be publishing a series of blog articles on this new feature, exploring the various ways you can use the application. In the meantime, why not check it out yourself and tell your friends about it.

As you can see, you can ‘Notify Friends’ with this application. This is a great tool for letting specific people know about the causes that they should be supporting! Don’t forget to befriend our beloved Twibbon Bird either! And then tell us what you think on our Facebook Group.

New Feature: Position your Twibbon

Phew. It’s been a busy week. In tandem with the Facebook application comes our handy Twibbon positioning tool, addressing users’ number one request since we launched in July! Are Twibbons messing with your ‘fro or getting in your face? No longer! All users on any social networking platform will now be able to place Twibbons anywhere on (our outside) their profile picture!

This new stage in the Twibbon-wearing process replaces the previous Preview function and only works when you’re signed in via Twitter or Facebook Connect. Get your positionable Twibbon today. Imagine the possibilities!

In total, more than 70,000 Twitter and Facebook users are wearing these Twibbons. The most popular, Breast  Cancer Research eclipses previous Twibbon records by more than 10,000 supporters and was made by Twitter user @youcantrewind.

Some other amazing statistics:

-           In just one hour 1,356 web users wore a Twibbon in support of Breast Cancer.

-          In total, the pink ribbon was exposed to over 13,000,000 users.

Star Factor

We had Hollywood Stars in our eyes as celebrity after celebrity joined the cause, with the likes of wild thing Denise Richards, pop princess Jordin Sparks and football legend Larry Fitzgerald uniting behind the iconic pink ribbon.

Hi everyone! We’re excited to say that you can now support the best reality show around on Twitter on Facebook with an Official X Factor Twibbon. Last weekend saw the hopefuls whittled down to 12 by the Judges, so why not show the world who you’re backing to win?

All you have to do is go to the Official X Factor Twibbon page, and you’ll be able to grab any of the 12 Finalist Twibbons. If you don’t know who to back yet you can wear this Twibbon to tell everyone you’re loving the show!

It’s the first year where the performance and result shows have been split across the weekend on Saturday and Sunday nights and the voice of the viewer has become even more important, with a crucial 24 hour window during which the nation can deliberate over which contestant to back as excitement builds to the results show.

We were absolutely delighted with the response of the Twitter community when we went live with Twibbon just a couple of months ago. After a great deal of hard work and testing, we are pleased to announce that Facebook users are now able to ‘Start Something’ with Twibbon! This is great news for Twibbon users, who will be able to integrate this new functionality into their campaign and promote awareness of their brand or cause. Why not spread the word through a ‘Fan Page’, or create a ‘Group’?

Here’s a full run-down of how you can do it.

On every cause page, there is now a new ‘Facebook’ tab. Clicking on this will take users through the quick and easy process of overlaying a Twibbon onto their Facebook profile picture.

The three-step process makes use of ‘Facebook Connect’, a tool familiar to many social networking enthusiasts. This allows Twibbon to safely and securely access your profile picture, and overlay your favourite Twibbon design onto it.
 
Once you login, you will be shown a Preview of your Facebook profile picture. You will also be informed that Twibbon will update your status on your behalf, and that a new photo album called ‘Twibbons’ will be created. When we take you to this album page, you must set the image to be your Facebook profile picture using the ‘Make Profile Picture’ button on the lower right hand side of the screen.
 
And that’s it! Soon, all your Facebook friends will be joining you and adding Twibbons to their profile pictures. Let us know what you think of this in the ‘Comments’ space below.
