With the stark statistic that one in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime, V-Day (a global movement to end violence against women and girls) started a campaign with the aim of staging a global strike to demand an end to the violence.
Using Twibbon as part of their campaign, V-Day is inviting one billion women and those who love them to Walk Out, Dance and Rise Up.
V-Day have so far amassed almost 3,000 supports with a striking and cohesive look to their Twibbon page, thanks to the Pro Campaign feature that give users the ability to upload Facebook Covers for their supporters to add as well as a custom made Header.
As people showed their support for the campaign, more buzz was generated across Twitter and Facebook:
Using the hashtag #1BillionRising and utilising their social media channels (including Facebook), @VDay managed to get the campaign to have the widest reach.
Using all of the Pro Campaign features available to them, @VDay were able to utilise the add your Facebook page feature, the like your Facebook page button, the customisation of their Twitter tweet and Facebook update and the Twitter autofollow feature.
VDay also linked to their website from their Twibbon campaign page, offering more information for users, and many more ways to get involved.
