5 Things You Taught Twibbon This Week

It’s a week to the day since Twibbon burst into the lives of the Twitter community. It’s kept us very busy indeed here at Twibbon Towers, but we’ve loved every minute of it, so we thought this would be a good time to reflect on and share some of the things we learned this week from our community:

1)    If music be the food of love, play on. Twibbon is now home of over 2,000 causes, and musical artists seem to comprise a lot of them! Over our first week, high trenders have included support for McFly, Chris Brown, New Kids On The Block, The Jonas Brothers, Michael Jackson, Blink 182 and 30 Seconds To Mars, to name but a few. Is there someone from the world of song and dance you’d like to promote? If so, Start Something on their behalf!

2)    A lot of Twibbons are actually ribbons. We’ve been fascinated by the designs of all the Twibbons lovingly made by Twitter users. At the time of writing this blog post, three of the ten most supported Twibbons take the form of ribbons placed in the corner of the profile image. Some innovative Twibbon pioneers have seen this as a good creative opportunity – just take a look at this tongue-firmly-in-cheek cause, NeverForgetBacon!

 3)   Twibbon is a Marketplace where the stock is enthusiasm. As one commentator (@erlikk) pointed out this week, it’s fascinating to look at the difference between Twibbon market share against actual market share. This blogger seized on the support for Twibbons representing  various computer operating systems and converted it into a comparative market share:

I'm Linux: 94 supporters
I'm a PC: 124 supporters
I'm a Mac: 476 supporters
I use iPhone: 16 supporters

Linux: 13% Twibbon market share, 1% Netstat market share
Windows:
17% Twibbon market share, 88% Netstat market share
MacOS:
67% Twibbon market share, 10% Netstat market share
iPhone:
2% Twibbon market share, 0.6% Netstat market share

Erlikk came to the conclusion that, while Twibbon won’t tell you to a scientific degree whose product has the most customers or users, it is indicative of which brands or causes have the most enthusiastic advocates. For the full article:

4)    Brazil and Twibbon are a match made in heaven. When they aren’t busy winning soccer World Cups and organising massive street Carnivals, the Brazilians love to get online and plaster their profiles in beautiful Twibbons! Causes that the South Americans have promoted include ‘BrazilLovesJonas’, ‘Brazil Loves Demi Lovato’, ‘Brasil’, and Fora Sarnay. Search for them all here!

 5)    Twibbon is whatever you make it. We’ve been delighted with the dialogue that’s been ignited amongst the Twibbon community and, because we want you to have the most enjoyable experience possible using the application, we’ve reviewed, discussed and responded to all your recommendations. How would you improve Twibbon? Tell us here.

Thank you for the warm welcome Tweeple!
