JustGiving challenges charities to make the most of the social networking explosion
Did you know that a Twibbon Custom Campaign Supporter is worth 60p to charities?
JustGiving is the UK’s leading platform for charities and donations. We’re delighted to announce that, with their help, around 50 lucky UK charities are set to win premium ‘Twibbon Custom Campaign’ accounts to help them engage supporters and raise donations through Facebook and Twitter.
How does it work?
Supporters on Twitter and Facebook add a charity’s Twibbon logo to their profile picture and an update is automatically sent to their social networking friends, encouraging them to do the same. The supporter is then redirected to the charity’s JustGiving profile page where they can make a donation, while the charity’s Twitter and Facebook following automatically increases.
Dogs Trust generated £1,000 in just 48 hours, and got loads of new supporters with their Custom Campaign. One in 10 people made a donation to Dogs Trust, making each Twibbon added worth about 60p. “By promoting the Twibbon on Twitter, Facebook and in our newsletters, we were able to reach our supporters who were interested in showing their friends that they support us,” Jacqui Darlow, the charity’s digital marketing manager.
